Cover the wax spot with the scrap or paper towel. Use a warm iron, just enough to melt the wax a little & make it transfer onto the scrap material or paper towel. You do not want it too hot that it will melt the wax further into your good shirt. Constantly change the scrap/towel so the wax will have somewhere clean to adhere.
