The possibilities are endless! I like to butter the bread; put cut up hot dogs, Polish or Kielbasa sausage; add a lil' squirt of mustard, some sauerkraut & a little cheese. Makes for a tasty hot dog pocket! Relish works good too in these!

Muffin mixes - They can be used (try plain corn muffin mix with hot dogs-whole or sliced= for a version of corndogs-or pancake batter with breakfast sausages).
Bisquik Batter or pancake mix or muffin mix works too-and you can add other things with it if you want to make it more of a meal or a dessert or a snack.
Put a little egg-beater in with maybe some salsa on top. Also use a little baking mix enough for just a couple of biscuits and put them in the snack maker. Have also done it. With the egg on one side and biscuit on the other at the same time. Fluffer Nutter

RE: Recipes for a Sandwich Maker
i use my sandwich maker often. basically, i butter the sides which will be on the OUTSIDE touching the griddle and then i usually put a tablespnful of watever leftovers i have in the fridge. baked beans, leftover pasta meat sauce, chilli, curry, leftover stew, ANYTHING that isnt too runny(if there is too much sauce, just drain a bit off). you can make another meal with a few spoonfuls of leftovers and a side salad! easy! you dont even need directions. just check the color of the bread after a few minutes till you are happy with it.

RE: Recipes for a Sandwich Maker
I don't know what everyone else calls them, but around the campfire we'd call them pudgie pies. You can make them w/your sandwich maker though. butter each piece of bread - open a can (comstock is what i use) of fruit - whether it be apples, cherries, blueberries etc. Put in about 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp of filling & cook. A delicious little pie!

RE: Recipes for a Sandwich Maker
Butter the sides of the bread which will be next to the plates of the machine. You can leave the crusts. We quite like slices of cheese (cheddar or similar rather than processed) with either thinly sliced onion or apples added. You can, if you wish, add a few drops of Worcestershire sauce if you get it in your area. Am looking forward to picking up more ideas here!

A dollop of mixed tuna in the middle of just one (each side), PBJ that is warm can't be beat, scrambled egg and sausage, etc. You can google the brand and get ideas, too. Good luck!

RE: Recipes for a Sandwich Maker
When making the sandwiches do you put small amounts on both sides of the bread since the machine cuts it in triangles. Also, should I remove the crust first? I don't have the instruction manual.

Love my sandwich maker. Reubens are the best. I use rye bread lightly buttered. Swiss cheese, corned beef, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing.
White buttered bread with pizza sauce, mozzerella cheese and any pizza toppings are another favorite.
White buttered bread with apple, cherry or any pie filling for something sweet.
