Tastes like Heath Bars.

  • 6 ounces chocolate chips
  • 6 ounces butterscotch chips
  • soda crackers
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place soda crackers in buttered cookie sheet with edges. Boil butter and brown sugar for 3 minutes. Pour over crackers. Bake for 5 minutes. Cool slightly and spread on chips to make frosting. Sprinkle on nuts.

These are the best bars and they are super easy. I usually put a sheet of tinfoil down on the cookie sheet for easy clean up.

Hi Mikki, you would line the bottom of the cookie sheet with whole crackers. The butter and brown sugar are cooked so when it cools you will not be able to cut them apart, rather, the candy will break apart into pieces. You can break larger pieces into very small pieces if you like. I think this is a very rich candy and I like smaller pieces.

Do you used cracker crumbs, or the square soda cracker? Also, does the cracker stay square so you just cut between them when it's finished, or does the cracker mush like a crust where you need to cut them? This sounds like a good recipe to use for our lenten church suppers coming up!
