What is wheat germ good for? And how can I use it? I bought some when I was baking at Christmas time for some dog treats I made, and have quite a bit left. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf22065243.tip.html

Rate It: A reader asked if you could bake bacon. Here are the responses we received from the ThriftyFun community. Post your own bacon techniques below. Cooling Rack in Cookie Sheet This is the correct way. Take a cookie cooling rack the same size as a cookie sheet. Place cooling rack on top of the sheet and cook the bacon at 350 to 400 degrees F about a half hour. 400 degrees F seems to cook it too fast and you still end up with a lot of oil in the meat. I've done it at 325 degrees F for an hour and it comes out nice too. Good Luck! By Barry View More Ideas: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf538235.tip.html

Rate It: The night before: Unroll boneless lamb (3-5 lbs) and wash and pat dry. In the center, lengthwise, place:
Sprinkle with cajun seasoning. Tie securely and wrap in plastic wrap and place in refrigerator overnight. DO NOT SALT until fully cooked. I have been warned that salting lamb before it is cooked tends to make it tough. Unwrap from plastic and roast on a rack at 375 degrees until the interior reaches a temp of 170 degrees F. Do not overcook as this will also toughen lamb. A nice pink interior is best. This is the MOST delicious recipe. Just be very sure of your butcher because as delicious as lamb is, mutton is entirely different. With this, we always chuckle about a one-liner Rodney Dangerfield said. He said that the neighborhood he grew up in was so rough that they served "broken leg of lamb." By Margie from Mount Vernon, Ohio Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf69910786.tip.html

Combine dry milk, flour and salt. Mix well. With a pastry blender, cut in butter, margarine or oil until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Put in an airtight container, store in refrigerator and use within 2 months. To make white sauce: combine 1/2 cup white sauce mix, 1 cup cool water, cook over low heat until smooth, stirring constantly. Season as desired, makes about 1-1/2 cups sauce.
