Sharing a Cab

When taking a cab, to cut expenses, you might consider sharing a cab with another person. Another thought, is make sure the cabbie resets the meter to zero, before he starts for your destination.

I think you are wrong here, If two people share a cab and both get out at same place, they can split the cost. But if two people start out together, person one gets out at point A with a fare of $3 (for example) then 'you' continue on to point B, the driver should not put meter at zero unless the two of you split the first fare. Otherwise, you are getting that portion of ride for free. Also why should the driver be gyped of his full amt of money.
