Making Safe Well Balanced Dog Food

I have read that garlic is toxic to the dogs? How can that be so? I have started making my dog food about 2 weeks ago using the following: steamed carrots, broccoli, ginger, parsley, and garlic. I then puree these and add fresh cooked salmon. Does anyone know if this is a good balance? They love it.

You might want to check with some rawfed groups to be certain your meals have enough protein and calcium.
Good luck. I have a year in now with two Shepherds.

Good for you. Raw is best. Even if it can only be couple times a week. Builds immune system. Something to consider for eyes, Most dogs deficient in lutein and other important vitamin mineral substances. Buy fresh Kale. Chop and half fry with a little coconut oil just to wilt kind of. I sprinkle wirh a little garlic and sometimes a little Parmesan. gobbled like ice cream. Kale is main ingredient in prepared raw diet bought from specialty health food stores. Every one of my 6 dogs loves it.
