When you put up a wooden fence, you usually nail the pickets to one side, then the other side of the fence doesn't look all that great. But if you keep alternating the pickets, nailing the first to your neighbor's side and the next to your side, you will end up with a fence that looks something like basket weave and will look good on both sides.
HI! As a professional fence contractor, I will say that the down side of such a fence is that it reduces privacy and also makes a "trap" for debris to become stuck in. We call it a "shadowbox." Another fast inexpensive option is to apply 4 x 8 sheets of lattice to the "wrong" side of the fence, which makes a wonderful backdrop for attractive vines. Cheap solar lights installed in a hole drilled in the top of the post also creates a nice effect.
Good luck!

Sorry, but I just clicked the 'Thumbs down' by mistake. Also did a 'Thumbs up' to, hopefully, compensate. Great idea, though. Thanks.
