4 lbs. green beans, trimmed, strings removed and beans snapped or cut into bite-size pieces
water, as needed
1/2 lb. slab smoked bacon, cut into small chunks
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Directions:
In a large saucepan, heat the canola oil. Add the green beans and stir until coated with the oil. add enough water to the saucepan to cover to a depth of 1 inch. Stir the bacon, salt and pepper into the beans. Bring to a boil over high heat.
