Banana Dogs

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 169 Posts

Like most people, I was raised on peanut butter sandwiches. I was hungry and in a hurry and in need of a quick jolt of energy so I took a hotdog bun, spread it with peanut butter and stuffed a whole banana in it. There was no slicing bananas and it was ready to eat in seconds.

You can also use a flour tortilla the same way. I load my down with leftovers from the night before and hit the road.

I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I have trouble fitting a whole sliced banana in one sandwich, though. What a simply fantastic idea!

I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. This is a great idea to use leftover hot dog buns. I also like to add raisins to my sandwich. A lot of times if I'm grazing over the kitchen sink for lunch, I just get a glob of peanut butter on a knife, spread it one bite at a time on the banana as I eat it adding the raisins to each bite.

Yummy any way you eat it. I'll have to try the hot dog bun idea the next time we have buns.

What a fantastic idea! Have never given that a thought. How about drizzling a little choc syrup over the top? I might try that when grandkids are here. Thanks for such a great idea. They will think I'm nuts when I start to fix it, but they will love it.
