Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. onion, minced
- 6 cups red cabbage, shredded
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tart apples, unpared, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup boiling water
Directions
Saute' onion in butter until tender. Add cabbage, cloves, salt and boiling water. Cover with tight fitting lid. Simmer 15 minutes. Add apples. Simmer 1 hour. If necessary, add more water. Add vinegar and brown sugar. Simmer 15 minutes.
