Finding Your Luggage When Traveling

Making your luggage easy to identify quickly saves time at the airline baggage carousel. I use a brightly coloured tape available at art or office supply stores, and create an 8 inch tall initial and stick it to my luggage. Easy to pick out, even from a distance.

We did this on our last trip. A time saver.

Thanks guys for your creativeness on luggage identification. I had an experience of losing my baggage once. I couldn't even remember the brand name of my bag which the airport personnel wanted me to write on the lost section.

I stenciled paw prints on my luggage. I had a lot of people wanting to know if I bought it that way. So many people tie things to their luggage, but I was the only one with paw prints!

I made a trip this Summer and wondered about finding my basic Navy Blue luggage...going thru my craft supplies I found some pretty lace appliques and I glued them onto the suitcase. Looked nice, got a few comments and found my luggage instantly.

Tip: Finding Your Luggage at the Airport

When traveling put brightly colored ribbon on your luggage. The more colors the better. When your pieces come around you will be sure to get them on the first go around.

What I do with my luggage is put a cloth type red tape, like the gray duct tape, around the luggage. Then I put big angel stickers on the tape, and I always get my luggage the first time around! I travel quite a bit and the stickers have yet to come off! I'm an angel lover so I know what to look for! (03/14/2005)

RE: Finding Your Luggage at the Airport

My family has always used pom poms made out of yarn to be able to find our luggage. My mom buys yarn in the brightest colour she can find, and we can always find our navy blue and black suitcases.

To make pom poms: gather many yarn pieces (around 10 inches) length-wise, as if making a yarn doll. Knot a piece around the middle. Fold in half and knot another piece around all the yarn. (07/31/2005)
