Heressssss Sable! Sable is a 4 year old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. We recieved her from my fiance's sister after she had her first born. This is our first born and she is spoiled to death! She is a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. She loves to sleep with us!
Here she is posing with her "daddy". She loves to cuddle with my fiance, Jim, and I. Yes, she is spoiled rotten!

Hi I just recently bought a puppy for 200.00 from a breeder who claims he is all chihuahua without papers. I don't really care what he is or whether hes purebred I love him to death. I just want your opinion of his breed. he is almost 4 months old and weighs 5lb 11oz thanks

This is Mocha Mae and she is a bully she is 2 months old and weighs about 4 pounds.
She thinks she is a big dog and jumps on our mini dachshunds.
We got her wanting a rat terrier but the prices were way out of our budget and so we got her she is so cute and we love her.

We found a dog wondering the streets after some neighbors got evicted and quickly took her in. At first we thought she was a Chihuahua and then started to notice Rat Terrier traits. I would love to know what anybody else thinks. She is the BEST.

I had no idea there was a site on the internet for rat terrier chihuahua. I had a beautiful purebred rat terrier that I brought to be bred to a rat. I had a beautiful high dollar chihuahua that obviously had gotten her before I brought her to the rat. The puppies were beautiful and I have now bred her 4 times and she always has 7 puppies. People usually fight over them. My rat is of course black and white, and my chi is brown and tan. The puppies are always chocolate and white, black & tan and brown. Old genes obviously.

Has anyone ever seen a black and Red Rat Cha? I have a male Dachshund that is black and Red and it may that he is the fathe , but she was breed to a another Rat Cha of the same color. I have this puppy here and I was told she was mixed with chihuahua and Jack Russel terrier, but I am not sure, but she sure is cute, and looks alot like one.

I have to puppies that was free and everyone keeps telling me that they are bettle hounds. Is there any way that you can tell me if they are not? I rescued this little guy from a girl that had gotten him for her birthday and had no time for him. Thought he was a chihuahua but now pretty sure he is a Rat-Cha. We just love him to pieces. He is a year old now and weighs 4.3lb

Do you guys think she is rat terrier/chi mix, I got her at the local shelter and she is like 4 yrs they think. She is so sweet, but she sleeps like all the time. Is this normal?

I got Princess from a breeder who said it was a full Chihuahua, but she looks just like a Rat Terrier. She is very energetic, fiesty and hard to potty train, but a loving sweet dog. She is 3 and 1/2 months old and 3.5 pounds.

We recently rescued this dog from a shelter, according to estimation 10-12 weeks old and she is 8.5' to her back. Any idea how big she will be? And what kind dog she is?
We heard a lot of diferent opinions ?
Anybody can help?
PS: her ears have dropped now. It's not totally up like before.

Love him to death! Great dog, very entergetic - only thing - the vet says he may have knee problems in teh future - which is common for Chihuahua - great bill of health otherwise. - Oh yeah, he's nine pounds at 2 years old.

My fiance and I have a chihuahua and he wanted another one so ours would have a friend. So, I found my little 4 month rat terrier/chi mix and my fiance is mad because he wanted a pure bread. Can anyone tell me more info about the mixes, what they will look like, how big they will get, what kind of dogs are they? I would really appreciate it.Should we keep her or take her back and get a pure chi? Any suggestions...Please help.

All of your dogs are sooo adorable. I just got a rat terrier/chihuahua mix male named Prince. He is so cute but im already having secong thoughts about it. I guess I didnt give it the full thought before I got him.

I just found out that my dog may be a Rat-Cha mix also. He has the best personality and temperment a dog owner can ask for. He is almost 3 yrs old. We thought we were buying a pure breed cha, but just like the other comments we wouldn't trade him for the world.

I have a puppy named Toby. He looks an aweful lot like Paris and has the floppy ears like Sable. I've been told he could be part Toy Fox Terrier, Rat Terrier, Jack Russell, and even Beagle. He is now 6 months and 6 pounds. I bought him from a family friend who owns two full pred chihuahuas, i know it is possible for there to be multiple fathers in one litter. He looks nothing like his mom, and nothing like his dad or litter mates, except they (littermates) all have exceptionally large ears. his seem to be the only one whose aren't standing up. They were for a little, or atleast trying to, but now they seem to just want to flop around. I've ruled out his being part jack russell on account for his size and age and weight, and partially ruling out beagle, again for size weight and age... He has really long legs, unlike his "parents" and brothers. The only thing that makes him look like a beagle are his ears.
Can anyone please help me try and figure out what my little prince is? I wouldnt trade him for the world! he is just the most amazing dog i have ever had and seen, and he seems to steal the hearts of everyone he meets!

Hi, I bought what I though was a pure breed chihuahua from the local pet store, only to find out after much research it's mix with a rat terrier. Wouldn't change him for the world but I'm trying to find out more about this mix?

Zane Skippy Scout was sold as a purebreed Chihuahua but as he got older.....the truth came out. I love him either and would never part with him. He is a bit of a bully and am always trying new trainning methods.

Hmm...I am also researching what breed/mix my dog may be and now that I have seen sable..I am pretty convinced she may be a rat terrier/chihuahua mix. Looks pretty much like sable. Great smile Sable...Faye is just as spoiled!! :)

Hi! I am getting a female rat terrier/chihuahua puppy in a few days and I have no idea what to expect! I live in an apartment so my only real concern is barking exessively. Do either of your dogs bark a lot? I hope my little girl is a pretty as yours! ( Her name is Ciara)
