I want to share a photo of one of my projects from several years ago. I found a great wicker basket with a fluted edge and it had a handle on it. I kept looking at this basket and flipped it over and decided to cut off the handles and make it into a lampshade for a lamp I had.
I spruced up the paint and drilled a hole in the bottom, then painted a wooden drawer pull white to hold the "shade" on the lamp. As you can see, I used fabric that goes with the bedding to make a "hatband" and used some eyelet fabric and fashioned a "flower" for the hat as well. I think it definitely makes a great lampshade! How about you?
Inspiration: All me. Just saw something that would make the lamp look very special!

I couldn't have done better myself! Great job. I do unusual things with baskets too. I love to hang them on walls and sometimes I hang the square ones bottom side to the wall and sit light things on top and inside.
I have this one up to house my rolled up placemats, and then hang my lucky bell (found in my first apartment in 1975) fron the nail.
Keep up the great work!
