Thank you for the suggestion about using baking soda. I tried it and it worked remarkably well. I had a bad spill on the stove a couple months ago and made the mistake of using an SOS pad to get the stain off. Major scratches. Baking soda with a wet rag got rid of most of the scratch marks. Of course it's not perfect but much better than before. Also brought back the shine. Thanks.

Try using some baking soda with a damp rag and see if that makes a difference.
