How to Save on Your Pets Shots
I order all my shots from the company that makes them. I find by ordering the vaccines myself I am saving about $30.00 per pet. Each shot comes with a detailed diagram of where to give the shot and a syringe. I find this also saves on my pets angiush about going to the vet. Any detailed internet search on "Pet Vaccines" with give you lots of choices. I personally like Omaha Vaccine company. There prices are very reasonable and they ship within a couple of days. Most states will require that you get a Rabies shot by a vet but I wait until one of the pet supply companies (Petco or Petsmart) has a Rabies clinic so that I also get a discount on it.

Wait a Week to Use Your Coupons
When you get your coupons, in your local weekend paper (Sat./Sun.), don't use them that week. Nine times out of ten, the coupon item will go on sale 1-2 weeks after the coupon appears in your local paper. This will allow you to save even more money, when you use your coupons.

Baked Spaghetti with Leftovers
Hi There! Easy baked spaghetti. If you have leftover spaghetti, brown some ground beef and add your favorite sauce. Mix in the spaghetti. Season to taste. Put spaghetti in a casserole dish and top with velveeta cheese. Bake at 350 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly. Yum! (My husband likes margarine on his). :)

More Mac and Cheese without an Extra Box
When my kids were small but growing up, one box of mac and cheese just wouldn't stretch anymore, but felt it would be wasteful to fix two. I just added some more pasta and a little extra milk to the cheese mixture and the amount would almost double. Saved a lot during the lean years.

Paid off home 8 years early, small payments add up.
When we were just buying our first home, we made sure it didn't have any pre-payment penalties, then I ordered an amortization schedule from the mortgage co. I could see that we were paying just a pittance on the principal every month, but lots on the interest. By sending in small amounts every so often, we paid off our loan 8 yrs earlier and saved thousands in interest payments. You can send an extra principal payment every month or 2 & 3 principal payments once every so often. If you just make monthly payments, you will not break even (pay the same on principal & interest) until year 23 on a 30 year loan, so you can see that almost all the money paid out every month is the interest to the mortgage co. This tip is easy to do the first several years when the principal payment is small. Harder to do on the back end of the loan when you pay a lot more of the principal off.

This scrub will help clean pores and remove dead skin. You shouldn't use it more than every other day and don't use it on inflamed skin. Avoid contact with your eyes.
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon water
Put the sugar in your palm and add water. Gently rub the sugar scrub on your face and neck. Then rinse with warm and then cool water.

Featured Feedback: RE: Lemon Juice on Skin
I've been using undiluted lemon juice on my face once in the mornings for about three weeks now. I leave it on for ten minutes or so and rinse it off. I have to tell you, for me the results have been dramatic. I usually have very oily skin, large pores, and am prone to break out. I've been getting compliments on my skin for literally the first time since I hit puberty. Amazing.

Featured Feedback: RE: Unsticking Stuck Marshmallows
When I buy a bag of marshmallows, I open them as soon as I get them home, and transfer them to a large zip lock bag. Throw a couple tablespoons of powdered sugar in and shake well. They will stay soft for months, and never stick together. Don't wait until they are stuck.

Featured Feedback: RE: Preventing Tomato Stains in Tupperware
Isn't it just easier to rinse bowl with cold water and make sure the food is cool when you put it in? Plastic is porous. So when food is warm it opens the pores causing stains. To remove stains use baking soda paste OR a little bit of bleach mixed with warm water. Sometimes just putting bowl in the sun for a day will help.

Featured Feedback: RE: Grocery Shopping? Food Budget?
I live in the Philly area and have a family of four. I do one big grocery shopping trip a month and spend about $150, but spend probably another $100-$150 a month buying quick items I've run out of at the local store with not so good prices.
If you don't get a Sunday paper with manufacturer coupons, you should subscribe. Your savings will pay for your subscription.
Check out manufacturer's websites for printable coupons or other websites that let you print coupons. But check with your grocery store first because some won't take them--mine stopped a few months ago.
Double coupons are terrific, too. Sometimes my store even offers a week of triple coupons. If they offer a bonuscard, forget about privacy issues and sign up. Not only do you save more, you often get coupons from manufacturers, at the checkout, or for spending a certain amount during like Thanksgiving, you can earn a free turkey or opt for a percentage off your groceries. I've even earned two free turkeys and donated one to a needy family. Who says charity has to cost anything?
Also, check out your grocery store website. They often offer one check rebate programs that they don't advertise in the store or the flyer. This is so simple! Not like the old days when you had to send away for stuff. All I have to do is sign up during each rebate period by submitting my bonuscard number. I can see what items are being offered and print out a shopping list. The grocery store gets the qualifying items from my bonuscard when I shop, notifies me how much my rebate will be, and mails me a check at the end of the rebate period. I usually get at least a $5 rebate per six week period, but have received as much at $10!
Also, don't over pack your kids lunchbox! I work as a lunch monitor and the amount of food these kids throw away each day could feed an entire homeless shelter! Ask your kids to bring home what they don't eat (even if its inedible) so you can see what you're wasting your money on and revise what you send them for lunch.
Hope this helps!

Today's Recipe: Garlic Vermicelli
Mix together water, butter and seasonings in medium saucepan. Bring just to a boil and add spaghetti broken into thirds. Cover and simmer 7-8 minutes.
I came up with this recipe because my kids loved the Vermicelli with Garlic and Olive Oil box mix you buy at the store. This is so much cheaper to make and they can't tell the difference.

by Jerrold Mundis
Millions of consumers have become trapped in a spiral of debt, but there is hope. If you wants to free yourself from the shackles of debt, this book is for you--it can help you "get out of debt, stay out of debt, and live prosperously." Jerrold Mundis writes in a friendly, engaging style, urging readers to stop the cycle of spending. Mundis knows what he's talking about--he, too, was once thousands of dollars in debt and didn't know where to turn. Anecdotes from Debtors Anonymous folks, plus multiple examples from the writer's own life and ledgers, make How to Get Out of Debt an encouraging read, not a condescending one. I had a pen in a pocket that went through the dryer. Now my dryer has ink stains everywhere. I have tried some cleaning products, and nothing is helping. Does anyone have any suggestions? Making Sure Clothes Are Really Clean
Hi. I wondered if any other readers have any ideas for making sure that their laundry is not only washed, but also disinfected. I had been using cold water and detergent for colors, and warm water for whites--until I began working at a local hospital. I want to make sure that I'm killing any harmful microorganisms that are on my clothes when I get home. I have started using hot water with bleach for my whites, which should help--but can anyone give me any tips for colors (what water temperature, best kind of detergent, etc.). Any suggestions will be appreciated. teddygirl

Anything Goes Fun to Sew Shoulder Bag
I saw a picture of one of these somewhere years ago. It didn't really look like something I wanted to make, but it is surprisingly easy to run up on your machine. This is my own version, much easier and much more freedom in choice of size, fabrics and embellishment opportunities.

Eating Well When You Eat Out
Which do you think is lighter - a 6-inch Subway tuna sandwich on wheat or a McDonald's hamburger? Even if you picked the hamburger (which is right), I bet you'd be surprised at the differences in nutritional content between the two. The McDonald's hamburger has 260 calories and 9 grams of fat, while the Subway has 419 calories and 21 grams of fat! It takes some good nutritional knowledge to be aware of many 'eating out traps'.
