No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients
  • 2 cups peanut butter, divided
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 cups graham crackers crumbs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips, divided

Directions

Grease 9x13 inch pan. Beat 1 1/4 cup peanut butter and butter in large bowl until creamy. Gradually add 1 cup powdered sugar. With hands or wooden spoon, work in remaining powdered sugar, graham cracker crumbs and 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Press evenly into prepared pan. Smooth evenly. Melt remaining morsels and peanut butter over low heat in saucepan. Stirring constantly until melted. Spread over graham cracker crust in pan. Chill at least 1 hour or until chocolate is firm. Cut into bars and enjoy.

Guys,
This sounds delicious and I'm eager to make it but please note that there is currently a recall on peanut butter because of salmonella poisoning. In other words, it's best to wait until we get the government go-ahead to buy peanut butter again. Keep in mind that many products like cookies, pastries and cereal may contain peanut butter so check the labels.

Since salmonella is killed when heated to 165F degrees, no bake recipes are especially at risk.
