Use a piece of sticky-back velcro to attach a piece of kitchen sponge to the top of your sewing machine. Makes a great, always-there pincushion to use while you are sewing.

Great Idea !
I have used scrap fleece and scraps of leftover quilt batting to make a rectangle and velcro to the side of my machine.I sewed the rectangles together and stuffed the quilt batting in and whip stitched together, sewed on the velcro and there you have a accessible pincushion as you sew or quilt.
