Almost every kitchen has appliances, oversized servers and pots that are seldom used.
Obviously, items that are never used should be donated, sold or tossed.
However, some of these items may be important to you at certain times of the year, so getting rid of them may not be your best option.
In fact, you may really want to keep these items, but they're taking up valuable space on the kitchen counter or in your kitchen cabinets.
Maybe you have several large cookie sheets, but you only use them during the holiday season. Or you only use the bread machine when Aunt Sally visits once or twice a year.
A good solution for this dilemma is to stow these rarely used items in a closet or in the basement, and just pull them out when you need them.
There's no sense in keeping these in the kitchen all year if you only use them once in awhile. But, when you do need them, you can simply pull them out of storage.
By the way, so you remember where you're storing everything, it's a good idea to keep a list of these rarely used items and their storage locations, taped on the inside of one of your kitchen cabinets.
This idea can easily be applied to the other rooms in your home, or even in your office.

RE: Stow It Away (Kitchen Appliances, Large Pots and Serving Dishes)

I live in a mobile home so space is very limited. I had my husband build me a "chest" bench with a flip up lid, that I can put the bread machine and crock pot and such in. It sits along the wall by the kitchen table and the kids use it instead of chairs

I love your list idea! Thanks!
I'm not wild about tape, but you could also use a magnet to put it on your fridge or enter the information into your electronic organizer. I think I'm going to make a list and put it with my recipes.
