Whenever you prepare any kind of hot sandwich, particularly the recipes that include some kind of sauce, it will make them easier to eat if you toast the bread/roll before loading it with the sandwich filling. Toasting the bread, seals and firms it just enough to prevent a soggy, hard-to-pick-up meal.
