Sweet and Sour Meatballs I

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 cup cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 green pepper (diced)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions

Directions

Shape ground beef, milk, salt, pepper, cracker crumbs into meatballs. place in baking dish single layer. Put sauce mixture over meatballs and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs II

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs or oatmeal
  • 2 Tbsp. onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 can chunk pineapple, undrained (13oz.)
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped

Directions

Combine hamburger, mil, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, bread crumbs, onion and egg. Shape into 20 balls. Cook over medium heat, turning occasionally, until brown, about 20 minutes. Remove from skillet; drain fat from skillet. Mix brown sugar, and cornstarch in skillet; stir in pineapple, vinegar and soy sauce. Heat to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; add meatballs. Cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add green pepper; cover and simmer about 5 minutes more.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs III

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Directions

Mix meat, crumbs, egg and salt and roll into small balls. Broil in oven or fry pan on top of stove until meatballs are brown. Drain meatballs. Saute' pepper and onion in butter until tender and add remaining ingredients to make sauce. Add meatballs, cover and simmer 30 minutes.
