When using canned frosting mix, place the mix in a bowl and add 1/2 cup of whipped topping with it and whip with mixer for about a minute. It doubles the amount and makes it easier to spread.

Is the name brand called Dream Whip? That we buy for this? In a dry powder form that you add milk too?

I've never tried the whipped topping with frosting. I do know that just whipping the canned frosting (with nothing added) adds volume and makes it easier to spread.

You can also add whipped topping to pudding to make it mousse-like and increase the volume. Yummy!
