Baby Boyzee and Sarah (Cats)

Baby Boyzee and Sarah are 11 month old mixed breed cats. I found their mommy and nursed her and she had kittens. I could not part with any of them and kept all 3!

They like to play with toilet paper. These are our kids, we will soon be celebrating their 1 year old birthday, we are planning a big birthday party, with treats and a little ice cream, they love it!

Lexus (Labrador Retriever)

Lexus is a 1 year old Labrador Retriever. This is actually my nephew and his wife's dog. On Mother's Day, at my mother's house, my grand daughter threw the ball into the quarry and she retrieved it all day.

We had a remote control boat in the water also and she kept wanting to go chase it. The other kids were fishing and once the hook got caught on her collar. She kept jumping across the line when going after the ball. She is a beautiful and smart dog.

Homemade Fabric Freshener

A nice and inexpensive olfactory treat is to 'scent freshen' clothing. All you have to do is make a spray bottle mixture of two cups water with 6 or more drops of your favorite essential oil. Just spray the clothing item and away you go. To infuse the scent use it when you iron. It's also lovely to spray on bath towels, sheets and pillow cases :-)

Crocs Shrink in the Sun!

I have worn Crocs for several years, in fact, I am just getting ready to replace my first pair. The pair I have been wearing are about 4 years old. It amazes me how well they have held up, because I am quite rough on shoes.

I had been wearing my Crocs outside to do yard work. When I went into the house, I left them on the outside step so as not to track in grass and dirt. The steps are pretty much in full sun throughout the day. I had left them out there for a few days, when my daughter looked outside at them and said they had shrunk!

Sure enough, they had shrunk, and that was a good thing; at least for me. From wearing them so much they had gotten too big and loose on my foot. Now it is like I have a new pair of Crocs!

Beach Glass Game

Today I went to the beach on Lake Erie looking for sea glass (beach glass), my first time. I had fun all by myself but thought of something fun to do with a friend.

Divide the beach in half approximately. One start at one end, and the other person start at the other end, and set a time limit. Each start and walk towards the other one looking for beach glass as you go.

When the time is up or you meet in the middle lay out your pieces and compare them. Before hand you should decide on 2 or 3 categories to judge them by, such as: best color, most unique shape and largest in size. Whoever wins 2 out of 3 categories is the winner.

Dear Webby's Joke of the Day

A monastery in the English countryside has fallen on hard times, and the monks decide to open a fish- and-chips restaurant. The establishment soon became very popular, attracting people from all over. One city fellow, thinking himself clever, asked one of the brothers standing nearby, "I suppose you're the 'fish friar?'"

"No," answered the brother, straight-faced. "I'm the 'chip monk.'"

Light Fixtures That Replace a Light Bulb

I am in need of a way to inexpensively change the poor lighting in my modular home's front room. Currently I have one single bulb ceiling light. What I am interested in is a screw-in type drop light that simply screws into the current bulb socket to bring the light down about 3 feet from the ceiling. I would like green or amber glass. Does anyone know of such a light? Thanks!

Ideas for a Corn Festival Float

I am looking for ideas for a float that will appear in our Corn Festival parade. This year's theme is "Hats off to Historic Grundy County". I live in a small town, originally settled by Indians. It grew as a result of the Illinois and Michigan Canal. We are a Real Estate Office, but it does not need to be related.

Dealing With a Hyper Puppy

This is my daughter's dog. He's a Shorkie (Yorkie/Shih-tzu). He is the most active puppy we have ever seen. She got Eli at 4 weeks old, the mom couldn't feed the babies due to an infection. Eli was rambunctious, over active and aggressive even at 4 weeks. When we introduced him to our Poodle he just kept attacking, biting at him, and bowling him over.

He is still being bottle fed. Now Eli is 3 months old and he's even more active than I can find words to describe. He's as sweet as can be and we love him to pieces. But I'm seriously thinking of trying to talk our daughter into giving him up. Right now they are on vacation so we are taking care of him.

We have to keep our Poodle out his reach so that he doesn't hurt him. Our Poodle (Pierre) is 1 yr old and weighs only 7 lbs. Eli weighs over 10 lbs already. Pierre is such a baby and it's a good thing, he wants to be held or lay on the table by our computer or on the counter near us. He thinks he's a baby, he doesn't know he's a dog.

How on earth can we ever train this Shorkie? You may not think he's that bad or active by my description here but he is. Plus 20 minutes ago he ripped a hole in my good work pants that I had on. He's so darn cute you can't get mad at him. We have crate trained him since 4 weeks. He loves that and is happy to be in there. He only cries when he needs to go out. Can someone please give us advice? My hubby takes care of him in the day. He takes him out and plays with him. Sorry for the long post. But we are desperate.

Is Using Salt and Borax for Fleas Toxic to Cats?

How often do you have to put table salt or Borax in your carpet so that fleas won't continue multiplying? If I put Borax or salt in my carpet will it pose toxins to my cat?

I came home from my mother's place after being there for at least a month and found all this black pepper stuff on the bed and my husband said that that's where the cat slept while I was gone. So far I have found 12 fleas on me over the last two days. How do I know how long this infestation has taken place.

Fleas don't bother my husband, but they bite the hell out of me. We have had our cat for 7 years and our dog for 4 years. We have had our dog on Advantix and our cat is an indoor cat. So we did not feel the need to put her on flea control. This is the first time that we ever have had problems with fleas. Is the salt toxic to cats? What should we do?
