I am looking for reviews of Back 2 Life (back exerciser). My daughter has compressed disks; she's not prone to actual stretching. Before I order this device for her, I'd like to know if anyone has any opinions.

Thank you in advance.

If they say 8 in 10 people suffers from back pain and if this product really works why aren't we getting A LOT of positive feedback? My husband suffers from herniated disk on L4 & S1 (related to job). We pretty much bought all the back exercise equipment from infomercials. They all had 30 day trials but all ended up in the garage anyway. I know this one will too. I know there's one solution that will work (at least for my husband) is to deal with the fact - lose some WEIGHT, get moving and lose that BIG BELLY.

After initial skepticism I bought a Back2Life a week ago and have great results. It is better and easier than the inverion table and cheaper and more available than the physical therapist I have used. Anyone on the fence should try it. It is not that expensive and you may make youself very happy.

I came here looking for reviews of the Back2Life, trying to make up my mind if it were worth it. It looks much more effective than the simple traction using a kitchen chair my back therapist recommended. Having read all your comments, I've got to tell you that I have had some impressive results with acupuncture. All those accolades they heap upon the Back2Life as benefits--sleep through the night, days without thinking of pain, ability to walk or stand for hours--acupuncture makes possible for me. The problem is that my doctor doesn't want me to continue going weekly. The way she explained it, you build up a tolerance for the pain relief rendering it useless when it is the most necessary. Okay, so what else can I do get back normal life.

I have not tried it but the guy who gave up his meds in only 3 days use, turned out to be Asprin! Not exactly Oxy's...

I have recently gone through a very effective - but expensive - back rehab program at a specialty clinic in Colorado and have been looking for ways to continue some elements of the therapy on a more affordable basis.

The Back2Life unit looks like it could be an effective way to continue one part of the program. However, before ordering it, I decided to try to replicate the slight lift and rotation movement of the device.

Lying on my back with my feet on a sofa, and with enough extra pillows under my calves to provide a slight stretch to the lower back, I began a series of very gentle lifts and rotations similar to the video. 12 in one direction and then 12 in the reverse direction.

I did not feel as though I was getting any benefit until I began letting my hips return to full resting position on the floor between each lift/rotation. When I returned to a standing position there was no question that my back felt much better and was less tight.

The Back2Life machine does the lift and rotation for you as opposed to the active form when done the way I did it using a sofa and a few pillows. It may well be that the passive motion of the machine is more theraputic than the active version, but I suggest you try the routine I tried. It may well be that the "do it yourself" version just might do the trick for you as it worked quite well for my particular back problem.

Good luck!

I tried the machine, got no relief. Thinking it was just me I had 2 friends try. They were not pleased. I returned the machine & am waiting 2 months for my refund. Are there so many refunds? What is the next step. I cannot afford them playing with my money.

I saw the Infomercial like so many that look for help with back pain. It sounded "to good to be true" and right there is your "Red Flag", but when you have back pain almost everyday you'll try anything! So, I ordered it and couldn't wait to try it!

The results were mediocre at best! So, after about three weeks using it twice a day I called the company to return it and the person said "Try adjusting the height two inches higher" and she extended me two more weeks to use hoping that would be the solution-Ok...two weeks later I called back and said I want a RA # to return the unit-the person asked me "have you tried using ankle weights? What? Now you want me to buy ankle weights to hopefully help?
I said that it just isn't worth the $200 + $30 Shipping-So, she gave me an RA # to return-

Well, now I have to go to the post office and pay shipping and insurance to have this thing sent back to them within 7 days-another $30 for that and you don't get back any shipping charges! Save your money on this one-But, you can take a chance on this product if you want too.

Some of these people that have written a favorable review, I am skeptical of who they are? Do they work for the company? Yeah...$200 for something that seems to be worth less than the shipping charges-Good luck!

I did indeed purchase this unit. Not really thinking this through however. Because I have severe back pain (on SSDI) it is very difficult for me to get down on the floor to use this & then getting back up is even more of a chore. Unfortunately I am past the 30 return period so am stuck with a unit I can not really use effectively. If there were a way for me to yet return this item I would do so in a minute.

I have peripheral Neuropathy and degenerative disc disease and after watching the infomercial a few times with much trepidation, I bought it on installment plan. Unfortunately, I had ordered other things over net in same time period and threw out box-not thinking. If I had not thrown the box out, it would have been mailed back, as I guess I was expecting more from it and it remained unused aside from two times until I had a really bad flare-up.

What I found that actually helps with this machine is this: I am 5-9" and there is no height indicator for my height and tried the 5-10" setting instead---and THAT actually helped me quite a bit, so NOW I am a believer, but I DO NOT think this is worth the price, maybe $100. would be more fair. To finally answer the orig. question---don't waste your cash. I bought a memory foam bed and that helped me more than anything else, coupled with pain management.

It's 200 bucks! I'm 53 yrs old and have had back trouble since I was 9. At 32 yrs of age my back virtually incapacitated me, removed me from my career, for over 15 yrs of total misery. In recent yrs I've been a bit better, but of course my beloved career is gone forever and I'm still not well enough to pursue it.

This is what I found to be the best for me so far: those large air-inflated rubber balls. Lying on those and rolling around have done the most. I coupled this with a Pilates class for a while and was really doing well. The inversion table will do the same thing, though not as well, and it cost way more. The ball costs under twenty bucks, but of course you must use balancing, so it is not appropriate for the elderly. Having said that, for 200 bucks I'd be willing to be ripped off by back2life since I've spent way more than that year after year just to attempt to get out of pain!

Even if it IS a ripoff, it's not two thousand, but only 200 you'd be losing. Just my thoughts. And again, you might want to try the exercise ball first. Do that for ten minutes twice a day and you may be delighted with the results you get. Believe me, you can really feel the stretches!

This machine is a complete rip-off. Don't buy it. If you have back pain, see a doctor. This machine won't work.

I just ordered one. Will let you know how it works. I have a crushed lower back from a motorcycle accident. I also have an Inversion table and it does help some. Putting my legs up on chairs helps also.
If this works I will share it with all. I suffer much and if it were not for Christ my Savior, whom I came to know after my accident, I don't know how I could ever deal with this pain. I pray this company is not out to rip off suffering people.

Look my friend, if you are really having problem with your back, then think 30 day trial. I was just getting ready to sign up for disc decompression therapy @ a price tag of $400/session. Then my wife tried to get me to buy this thing on tv. I laughed at the idea but she went ahead and bought it any way. To make a long story short, I cannot be more satisfied. The thing really works wonders. However my 80 year old mom does not have the patience to give it a chance.

The Back2Life machine REALLY WORKS! I have 3 herniated disks, an impinged sciatic nerve and after years of "Pain Management Therapy", I've now been told I have spinal arthritis, as well. I use it every day and it has helped my pain tremendously. There a still a few things I can't do, like heavy lifting, but now I am not living in daily, excruciating pain while sitting and walking. Like the first person said, it has a 30-day money back guarantee! So, what's to lose by trying it?

I was suckered in and bought this product with much apprehension. It was either this or a scooter, I have used it every day for 3 weeks now with remarkable results! I'm walking 2 miles a day after 2 days of using the machine, I will never say it was a bad buy, since for the last year my pain prevented my walking more than 2 blocks. Yes it probably is over-priced, but I could no longer afford uninsured physical therapy, and I couldn't afford a personal instructor. This for me was a last chance purchase with what amounted to be my last buck on disability. Now I have hopes to rid myself of my cane and get back into the work force. My daughter thinks I'm nuts, but even she can't deny the obvious results!
It may be that I'm just an anomoly, but I most certainly have benefited from this machine! I've kept the box - ready to send it back (30 day guarantee), after 3 weeks I'm ready to throw out that big space-consuming box. I actually got on this site to see if I could find others with similar experience. Well I was, and maybe still am suspicious of my benefiting from an infomercial product, but so far it's money well spent!

Ditto Michael Wagner. I've been to a few sites and its the same opinions from people who have not tried the machine. I'd like to hear first hand comments from actual users.

So, I see a lot of opinion and advice about other things here, but has anyone actually USED this thing? I would like to see some reviews by people who have used the Back2Life with good, bad or mediocre results.

Apparently they sell this thing on Ebay as well and here is what the profile for the seller which is Getback2Life. I am thinking of getting this for my mom who has suffered back pain for years but I am very weary about. Especially since there is one negative review of the product.

I am a medical researcher by trade, and I have back pain. So I investigated this "remarkable machine." The major proponent of Back2Life, Dr. Darrow, has never published any article in a reputable peer-reviewed journal supporting the claims made in the infomercial. I would never buy this product.

I have a Hangups F7000 which I've had for about 10yrs; purchased from one of the Home Shopping channels..excellent construction, very stable. If you have to order via internet, see if you can find free shipping/handling...these are not very lightweight.
(my daughter lives in a different State) I believe I saw some inversion tables on Craigslist...

I have Spinal Stenosis as well and the pain can be terrible. Maybe I should try the inversion table as well. Sharon, why do you think it helps so much? What brand did you buy? was it expensive? My stenosis is is in the lumbar region and a lot of my pain goes down the front of my thighs. I too am skeptical of the back2life.

There is an excersize that does the samething as this item. And will save you money. A person can also put thier legs up on pillows or chair/ottoman for the same exact affect this ithttp://yoga.about.com/od/yogaandbackpain/ss/pelvictilts_2.htmem does. Here is a site to get the general idea.

I, too, am suffering with back pain. I was told of this site by my mother-in-law. This is just my opinion, but I don't feel this is worth the price they are asking. It looks as if you could do the same thing by just lying on the floor and putting your feet up on the couch. You can move and stretch the same as they show to do with their device. I decided to save my money. Maybe others have bought one and tried it and can give us their opinions. Good luck.

I don't know about Back2Life, but, I do know what works for me. I have Spinal Stenosis. What I use is an Inversion Table. It gently stretches the spine. I was in agony for months before purchasing this Inversion Table. It is very, very sturdy and is used by therapists. I ordered mine from FingerHut. Many family members use mine too. My 14 year old grandaughter says it feels fantastic.
