With summer coming, corn-on-the-cob is a great favorite of ours. To avoid mess, and waste, we use a piece of bread to butter ours. Just put a pat of butter on the slice, twirl your corn, and pass it along!

Maybe I have less "couth", but we just roll our corn on the stick of butter before salting or peppering it.

Why not buy a nice clean paint brush or a pastry brush about two inches wide and use it to butter corn on the cob? We use a small dish and melt the butter in the microwave. We use this to butter toast, the top of bread or anything else that needs to be buttered. Just wash the brush and dry with a paper towel, put the butter dish in the refrigerator when you are through.
