Instructions

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 6 green apples
  • 6 red apples
  • chopped walnuts (opt.)

Directions

Place unopened can of milk in a pan of water with the water just over the can. Boil for 3 hours. If water level drops, replace water. Place can in refrigerator overnight. Cut and core apples into slices with skins on. Set apples in 7-Up to keep them from browning. Drain. Open can from both ends and slide caramelized milk out. Pat chopped nuts around caramelized milk, if desired. Place on serving dish and set apple slices around caramelized milk.

Apple Dip

I'm sure this is a good dip, but what a waste of energy to cook something for 3 hours! I'll just take the caramel dip in the store or caramels melted with some milk in the microwave. (04/25/2007)
