DecoPac Inc. Recalls Football Bobble Head Cake Decorations Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Football Bobble Head Cake Decorations

Units: About 80,000

Manufacturer: DecoPac Inc., of Anoka, Minn.

Hazard: Surface paint on the body of the bobble head contains lead in excess of the federal lead paint standard.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The recall includes plastic miniature football bobble heads with green bases only, which were sold for placement on a cake. The bobble heads represented the following teams:

Baltimore RavensGreen Bay PackersOakland Raiders
Chicago BearsIndianapolis ColtsPhiladelphia Eagles
Cincinnati BengalsNew England PatriotsPittsburgh Steelers
Dallas CowboysNew Orleans SaintsSan Francisco 49ers
Denver Broncos New York GiantsSt. Louis Rams

Football bobble heads with black bases are not included in this recall.

Sold at: Bakeries and ice cream stores nationwide from January 2006 through October 2007 with the purchase of a cake or ice cream.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the football bobble heads immediately and contact DecoPac to receive a free product of equal value.
