My sisters and I are planning a surprise 75th birthday party for my mom in August and we are looking for some ideas on what to do. We are using black and gold for the colours. Help.

We had a 50th birthday party and asked each guest to bring 50 of something & a note explaining why they brought that particular item. Gifts can be serious or funny. This could be done with 75 also. Some of the gifts & reasons: 75 stars to represent all the nights her sleep was interrupted by her children. 75 coffee beans for all the early mornings caused by the children. Another 75 stars because she was the center of our universe. 75 hershey's kisses because she is so full of love. 75 marbles just in case she had lost any of hers. 75 flowers to show that she was the prettiest blossom of all. 75 rubber bands because she is so flexible. 75 pennies because it's a drop in the bucket compared to her real worth. 75 sugar cubes because she is so sweet.

75 dinosaurs because she was around when they were alive. 75 pictures of owls because she is so wise. 75 recipe cards because we all treasured her recipes. 75 coupons for a free hug on demand. A $75.00 gift card for groceries for all the meals she has cooked. 75 batteries for her boundless energy. Etc. There are lots of things you can give that represent something and it is inexpensive to do. Just think of an attribute and come up with something that can represent it. It's also a lot of fun seeing each gift and finding out what it was given for.
