Want to treat someone to a relaxing moment? Here's a frugal way to show them that you care. Collect smooth stones from your yard or from your beach travels, wash them and gently heat them for a special spa therapy at home.

I used to sell massage stones as a home sideline business. Warmed massage stones are excellent for arthritis. Warm them & place between fingers or toes - they feel wonderful. Add essential oils for their relaxing or rejuvenating qualities. I usually place the stones in a glass dish, add very hot - or boiling water & then let them cool. Test one on your inner arm for heat. Sometimes I have been able to buy smoothed stones at the $ store. Other times I pick up stones on the beach. Be sure to wash your stones well before using & make sure they are nice & smooth with no sharp edges. Also, you can make little bags out of face clothes or terry cloth, slip a few of the warm stones in & use as a small heating pad. So relaxing.

How do you heat the rocks, then what do you do with them?
