My son was helping his Dad who was repairing a Volkswagon vehicle; my son came up the driveway with his hands out and said, "Hey Mom, am I clean?"

This picture is 24 years old and my son still helps his Dad work on vehicles; my son still comes into the house to wash his dirty hands and gets my towels dirty!

What a memory!

Millie is a 2 year old Chihuahua. Millie likes to protect the house from Monsters and Cat-Possum's. Make believe creatures that come into her territory.

Millie is all of 3 lb. 12 oz. and is my nerve pill of life. She walks sideways behind me when on the couch.

Joe is probably about 5 years old. We found this big guy at the humane society. What a find he was!

Joe plays fetch. He loves it and has taught his little "brother" to play it also. He also is very into his cat nip!:}

My cats aren't just pets, we call them our little kids. Life wouldn't be the same without them.

If you do any replacement work on your plumbing, double check the job the next day, a week later, a month later to make sure that no leaks develop.

We had a lot of fun with a drip under the sink this weekend that we hadn't realized was there. We'd installed a faucet some months back and although it seemed fine right after we installed it, it evidently has been dripping. The under the sink cabinet was full and it dripped out the back, soaked the bottom of the cabinet, then reached the old flooring and came forward underneath the new vinyl tiles in the kitchen. The floor kept being wet because everytime you would step on a tile, it would squish a little water up through the cracks.

For someone who finds they have that problem, look for plumbing leaks. It was just a little drip from where the shutoff valve faucets were attached to the waterline.

Walgreens has an EasySaver booklet every month. There are usually several items that you can get free with rebate. I use it every month and get items I can use for gifts - shampoo, body wash, lotion, etc. If you ask for a gift card instead of a check for your refund, they add an extra 10% to your rebate.

Don't be afraid to return items to the grocery store that are bad or spoil quickly. For example, if you buy a big block of cheese and it starts growing mold after a day or two in the fridge, it probably was not packaged properly. Even if you used some of the cheese, it still can and should be returned for a new product. Just be sure, to keep your grocery receipts handy so you have a proof of purchase.

When bringing a rescued pet into your home be very aware of the subtle and sometimes not so subtle hints they give you. Our rescued Golden, Maggie was very fearful of loud noises-thunder, firecrackers, shotguns, pans falling out of the cabinet, etc. She needed a safe place (under the bed) and time to adjust after each episode. We don't know what circumstances created her fears but we loved her through them. She is now almost 8 years old (we got her when she was 14 months) and she can now tolerate mild storms and shotgun blasts in the woods near our home. She rarely gets under the bed anymore. Patience!

Limit your risk of being robbed by avoiding ATM or cash machines at night. If you have to use an ATM at night, find one in a well lit, well traveled area. People walking away from an ATM are particularly vulnerable because criminals know that they have cash.

I live in North Georgia (zone 7b) and I would like to place 2 large pots (container garden) on either side of our front door with a variety (about 3) of easy to care for, but colorful plants. I have tried all kinds of food for my 1 year old Louisiana Catahoula Lepord dog. He just won't eat dog food. He's not sick, just spoiled by me. I have mixed butter, bacon grease, olive oil, fish oil, canola oil, warm water in dry food but nothing has worked. I'm at a complete loss. Can any one suggest a solution? I have bought him different kinds of food from the makers of special dog food.

I have blue Stains on White Cotton Clothes from leaving soaked in Oxiclean for too long (5 days). The stains are small and look like little blue pen marks every few inches. Does anyone know how to get these stains out?

My daughter used the magic eraser on dark painted walls. It has left a white residue. I tried going back over it with a sponge but it is still there. She made a few smiley faces with the eraser. We weren't smiling too much. Please help.

I have the world's worst dry skin. I have used many over-the-counter products but nothing does enough. I have heard drinking lots of water actually helps. Any response to that? Also, my face has dry flaky spots, I need a recipe for a good homemade mask. Something that will moisturize and refresh.

I am writing hoping that someone can give me some advice on how to clean clothing that has gotten a goodly amount of gasoline on it. My husband changed the fuel filter in our car and now the t-shirt and sweatshirt he was wearing while doing the job have gas on them and it smells really strong.

I am afraid to put them into my washing machine and I definitely don't want to wash them with anything else I have. Will my machine stink like gas and therefore, make everything that goes into the machine after washing those gas-covered clothes smell like gasoline? Ugh! I don't know what to do! Hope somebody can help!

I planted my collards in the Spring of 2005 and cut them back in the Fall of 2005. These plants are still going strong. How many years can collard plants grow? Shall I cut them back to the stem again to keep them growing? Would it do any good?

The spammers are at it again. There are reports of fake emails from the IRS telling you of a $63 refund. These are FAKE, do not respond to them. They are phishing for your personal information for identity theft purposes. I just saw this on the news. The IRS reports they do not send out emails.
