Label Child's Belongings for School

With school back in full swing, for your younger children who might have trouble remembering their coats, jackets, or other items, at school or on the school buses, please put their names on the clothing tags inside, so they can be returned your family. Any items without names or identification left on the buses gets tossed in the trash.

My husband drives a school bus too, and our school system doesn't throw things out. The bus barn has a lost and found box. Parents can call to see if things have been placed in it or the children can talk to their driver. Usually things get back to the rightful owners. It really frustrates the drivers when no one claims expensive items, even when drivers continually ask if anyone lost the items.

Great thrifty tip, since those items cost money. Just like microchipping my dog so if I lose her, she'll be back.

It seems a shame that the clothes and things go in the trash rather than a lost and found box (temporarily) or charity store.
