Pepperoni Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening or margarine
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 package pepperoni slices, finely chopped
  • 2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Gradually add milk and stir in pepperoni and cheese just until combined. Drop by tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 degrees F until golden brown, approximately 15-20 minutes. Serve warm. This is good with a spaghetti dish or sausage gravy.

Robin, these sound great! I'll bet they'd also be good for making ham or sausage biscuits or sliced and filled with sliced fresh tomatoes or sauteed mushrooms, onions, chiles... heck, the sky's the limit! I gotta try these... thanks, Robin!
