Combine strawberries, sugar, egg whites, lemon juice, and salt in large mixing bowl; beat with mixer at medium speed for 15 minutes or until stiff. Whip cream; add vanilla. Fold into strawberry mixture. Pile lightly into pie shell. Place in freezer for several hours or overnight. Can decorate with fresh strawberries.
I made this pie last weekend, except used raspberries. Found that the amount of salt was too much, had to add more sugar to counteract the salt taste. The family loved it, will try it again, adjusting the salt, and using strawberries!
