Ah, the beautiful dissonance of the call of the Canada goose. (Sigh.)

I captured this picture of four geese on Ft. Loudon Lake while out for a day of fishing this past weekend. There were about 50 geese swimming within about 50 yards from us at any given time.

My Grandson and I took a walk and whom did we see?

Six smiling geese walking right next to him and me!

Purists technically would always call them simply 'Canada' geese. Don't ask me why. In NE Ohio they are known as manure manufacturing pests. (06/09/2010)

This picture was taken this past winter at a beautiful little pond a block from my home. The birds don't seem to mind the ice in the water. So many beautiful creatures that it's sad to see them fly off when the temperatures warm.

I may be in the minority, but I consider the sound of Canadian geese on the wing one of the most beautiful sounds in the world. (05/16/2010)

Geese go a walking! My Grandson was looking out the window and he saw 4 geese go a walking right down the middle of our street. He counted "one, two, three, four, is there any more?"

Your grandson is a smart boy and witty! Come on over the river to Fort Erie and he can learn all his numbers. There's tons of geese! (09/15/2009)

They may not sound as beautiful to others, but I always found their dissonant honking magical. Thanks for sharing. (09/17/2009)

Wildlife: Canadian Geese

I caught this picture feeding some Canadian Geese at a small pond near my son's apartment complex. You can tell they are use to being fed because they come right up to you when you are getting ready to feed them. I also saw some gold fish coming up to eat on the bread as I was throwing it out there. I was really surprised to see them in that pond.

I caught these Canada Geese on camera last October, resting before continuing their journey south for the winter. I wonder how many ended up on Thanksgiving and Christmas tables?

Scenery: Canadian Geese

We found your Canadian Geese! There is a little creek about a mile down the road from our house here in Mt. Zion, Illinois. On the bank of the creek is a little park, then there is a house, then an empty lot. These geese congregate on the empty lot and in the little park. There are usually over a hundred geese between the two spots. One day I stopped to take a couple pictures of them. I hope you enjoy my pictures!

God Bless,
