I had a spa theme party. We made our own facials, had smoothies, fingerfoods, we went in the hot tub, did our nails, sung kareoke, it was a blast! We bought bubblebath and other spa items and put them in the goodie bags. It was alot of fun and inexpensive.

Have a dance! Invite as many people as you want! Get a DJ some snacks and etc. Make sure you have fun.

What I finally did (last month) was have a video game party. That's what my son LOVES to do, and I have no car to take them anywhere, so it was perfect. We invited 6-7 boys to spend the night, had 2 computers and 2 tvs, 3 game systems, and one hand-held, all in the living room. Of course there were toys, too, and lots of toy swords from the dollar store. Lots of snack foods and drinks, and they had a blast!

You could go to an indoor water park like Great Wolf Lodge and just have a small group because it can get a little expensive. Just get a room like a family suite and let them play at the water park! its so fun!

I'm turning 12. I am a girl and I am having 6 girls including me at my house. So I got 6 birthday present bags and got two of everything (wash cloths, soaps, hair clips, and a couple of little toy things). We put one of each thing into a bag, making sure that no bag had two of the same thing. Then we gave each girl a bag and played a type of go fish type game. Who ever matches all of their things first wins! And who ever has one of the matches gets to keep whatever is in their bag!

Okay so here's what I am going to do: take your child to a local swimming place, Water World Six Flags etc., and just let them swim for 3-4 hours. Take them to the movies after that (let the birthday-goer pick) and then go home and order pizza, etc. HAVE FUN!

Pass the Parcel.
You get a bunch of little prizes, and wrap them up in like 20 layers of newspaper. The kids pass the parcel around, and every once in a while you stop the ambient music, and the person stuck holding it unwraps just one layer of the wrapping. The person who unwraps the last layer keeps it!
Works great for all ages.

You could take the kids to a bowling alley. Many places have snack bars where you can purchase food/soda, or serve snacks/birthday cake that you provide. Some lanes even have bumpers for the younger crowd. It's always fun, even for the adults!

does he like roller skating? If so and you have a roller rink near by have one there. our local roller rink will let you reserve a corner table and bring your own cake and decorations. make the invitations out for the time you wish to allot for the party 2 hours is always good. depending on what time of the year it is you could have a pool party. most local parks with pools will rent the pool and facilities out for 2 hours for private parties.

It depends on what he likes. Does he want a birthday party ? Is it a surprize ?

Have a BBQ by the pool.
Have a party at an all you can eat buffet or make one at home.
Have a party at the beach.
Have a theme party..treasure hunts, explorations, investigations ,etc.
Something he is into.
