Our granite counter top has some large abrasions. How can we remove them? We haven't been able to hire a pro to do this, as they say it can't be done.

Thanks, Terry

You didn't specify what you mean by abrasions or where you're located - My family in Denver has used www.restoremarbleandgranite.com/ for their floors etc..

You might try
http://www.polycleancare.com/html/restore.htm and see if they have someone in your area

You could always try restoring it yourself & then sealing it. Several products are available at any of the following:
http://www.natural-stone-interiors.com/care-granite-countertops.html
http://www.acrylicrepair.com/
http://www.bonstone.com/repair-kits.htm
http://www.mystonecare.com/

Stone Repairing companies:
http://www.servicemagic.com/task.Na ... -Stone-Tile-Marble-Repair.40047.html

http://www.graniterus.co.uk/repairs.php is a good read & has a lot of tips on repairing natural stone.
www.findstone.com/othprob.htm

I would contact CONPROCO http://www.conproco.com/ and find out if they have professionals in your area who can help. It sounds as thought your counter-tops need to be resurfaced - maybe they'll know some who can do it.
