Night Blooming Cereus

This is two of 15 night-blooming cereus' that bloomed on Jul 18th (6) and Jul 19th (9). The plant is quite large and about 30 years old. The blooms last only one night, are very fragrant and are spectacular! This plant normally blooms from mid-July through the end of August.

I live in NYC and 5 flowers bloom in 2 days.. its been more then 2 years since its last bloom..

i have a night blooming cereus a woman sent me,it was a leaf ,and she told me to put in soil ,and it would grow,well i put it in soil last yr and its just sitting there,what am i doing wrong,
