Hello,

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. We had an email sending glitch yesterday that effected the Send To a Friend feature on the website. The email wasn't sending out from between 9AM until midnight so if sent an aticle or a tip to a friend yesterday the email was not sent until midnight. All emails were eventually sent.

This is my loveable but very spoiled (as you can see) Gabby of Glasgow. She's a 5 yr old Pembroke Welsh Corgi and loveable as she can be. She thinks she's a queen.....which to us, she is :-)

May no soldier go unloved,

May no soldier walk alone

May no soldier be forgotten

Until they ALL come home

Today's Tips

Tips for Saving Money When Income is Limited

Right now we are living on one income as I am unemployed. We are a family of 5: me (41), hubby (38), son (16 no permit), daughter (14), and son (11). It isn't easy but we have made a strict budget and are sticking to it! We also shop at Aldi's, a local Mennonite discount grocery store, and local discount retailers. No extra's allowed right now until I get back to work!

We come up with menus so we only buy what we absolutely need. Money is put aside in our savings every month in case of emergencies and to pay quarterly bills such as trash pickup and water. We do not have cable..use an antenna and we do have a lot of DVD's/videos we have purchased in the past. I am taking a free computer class which also incorporates job hunting skills. I take any free classes available! Check with your local labor department and/or nonprofit agencies for free classes. Thrift stores are a great place to purchase household needs at a low price, as well. cinlou

Removing Bits of Yolk From Egg Whites

If you need to remove a little bit of yolk from egg whites all you have to do is dip a damp paper towel into the whites. The yolk should cling to the paper towel.

Plastic Lids from Coffee Cans, Etc.

We serve a lot of coffee at our house and I have managed to put the plastic lids to great use. You can use them as little palettes for painting, great for kids and stencil paints, then just toss in the trash. You can use the clear ones as quilt templates. You can place them under your planters to catch water spills and protect your furniture from marks. You can cut them in half and use them as scrapers for your countertops or as mini dustpans. Just be creative and I am sure you can come up with a lot more uses. I have found even the lids from Pringle cans work great on the bottoms of shaving cream, hair spray and room deodorizer and you have no rust marks that usually happen in the bathroom.

If you enjoy step aerobics but not the cost of the step, completely wrap an old phone book in duct tape.

It's great for beginning to intermediate levels and the duct tape is non-skid.

White Fungus Solution - Fungus under fingernails.

There are many gardeners around the world that would appreciate this bit of info.

You could be very healthy and get this gardening, doctors are seeing scores of patients each year, and there WAS not sure cure for it. The medication ranges from medication taken internally or topical, ALL was way too expensive and unreliable! Nothing worked, just prolonged the pain and suffering. And the medication has to be monitored in case it damages your liver, that's why many doctors refuse to prescribe it.

The fungus somehow gets under your fingernails and eats away at the bed of the nail until it totally falls off. This is like a long and burning torture! I saw my mother with it in the toenails and fingernails (raised her 9 children and kept a large garden), younger brother had suffered with it in all his fingernails and lost them, this takes many weeks and months to grow back. My cousins also had it, and all of us live in far distances from one another.

Yes, all suffered, until it hit MY FINGERS! Well, no one or anything messes with me! After I had enough of it, I began to think outside the box (so-to-speak). I said, "Hmmm, 'fungus'? I wonder...and looked at the bottle of 'Tilex Mildew Remover', it says it kills all fungus!" I took a paper cup and put a couple drops in, then I rested a toothpick in it for a couple of seconds, then ran it under my nails, and voila! Never again will I suffer this, been years since and never came back, too bad my folks suffered before me!

Mailing a Get Well Card

Anytime I mail a get well card to someone in the hospital I put THEIR home address in the the "return" section of the envelope. That way if they are discharged before the mail gets to them it will be "returned" to them at their home.

If you're like me, you may have taken tons and tons of digital photos with your trusty digital camera, but never took the time to organize them.
