Elastic Hem for Long Pants

Track suit slacks are made so the leg ankles nearly always drag on the ground causing wear and tear. On the inside of the hem, put a small cut across the material being careful not to damage the stitching. Using a 1 inch (25mm) safety pin threaded with about 10 inches (25 cm) long of 1/4 inch (about 6mm) elastic tape and thread it through the cut.

The tail of the safety pin should pushed through first. On completion of the circuit, the ends of the elastic can either be knotted or stitched together. This idea may ideal for trousers, pants, slacks, or trews of Primary/junior school children.
