Me, I use no plastic, only glass and stainless.

I always spray my plastic before putting any tomato products in them. I have NEVER had a stain after do so. It also seems to cut down on smells remaining behind.

Rinse out the bowls with Cold water first. Then use warm, soapy water to clean.

It helps a bit to spray them first with pam cooking spray then add your food.

You really can't prevent it, but I do have a way to remove the stains. Fill the bowls or containers with water, and get yourself as cheap of a package of denture cleaner as you can (like Equate, from the Walmart, or any other generic denture cleaner), and put a half of a tablet of that into the bowl. Let it fizz itself out, and viola! The stains will be gone. Works great on coffee and tea stains in mugs, too. ;)

I am not sure if this works or not but a friend told me to spray the bowl with pam before putting spaghetti sauce in. I am going to try this myself. Cathy from MA
