I need ideas for an underwater themed dance! It's for high schoolers and the cheaper the better!

Thanks!

1.)sunken ship with cannonball hole in it put snack counter behind it Veluia sunken snack bar!
2.)chicken wire enforced cardboard anchor built around bench, for an anchor bench (for extra flare attach paper machete chain to ceiling and anchor).
3.)shine lights through tubs of water with sea green and sea blue food coloring that wont mix for wavy lighting affects.
4.)balloons that look like fish.
5.)octopus made with balloons attached to a frame of bendy metal rods.

We had a similar theme for our last dance. Lots of balloons of different shades of blue will help. We also bought these huge kits for large cardboard ships, masts and all. The kit also included cardboard anchors and sea coral. Glitter covered almost everything, but I heard the kits cost a few thousand. We had various fish and seahorses hanging from fishing lines. A blue tarp was duct taped to the floor. Blue lights will look good, too.

hey!! well one thing we just did at our past dance was hang nets from the ceiling not sure about the cost or where they got them i just help put them up but... it could create a cool underwater effect because some people fish with nets and you always see them by the ocean! all we did was tie them up from oneside of the gym to the other!! ohh and you could have a pirate ship sort of like a sunken one like really old rotten up!

How about renting a local pool for a couple of hours?
Have items (prizes), coins etc. they can dive for. Have music they can dance to in the water, also, some pool basketball games, catch, frisbee, anything fun that those who don't feel like dancing can do. Have fun!
