Rate It: Homemade Church Wedding And Reception I had a friend that wanted to save money by skipping a fancy church wedding, so I made her reception hall into a makeshift church and altar. We saved a lot of money by doing so. The big plus is that the guests could sit and enjoy the wedding and not have to get up and leave to go to the party, it was all in the same room.

Rate It: Using a Play Pen for Momma Dog and Her Litter Use play pens make a great place for your small pet to have their litter. My sister's chihuahua had puppies a few months ago and wanted her momma dog to have a safe place to have them and to keep the pups away from the daddy dog and cats in the house. She cut a small hole big enough for the cord to a heating pad to use for the puppies when "momma" needed a break. Also, another good idea is you can drape stuff on the sides for privacy so the momma dog doesn't get to nervous with the other pets looking in. Worked great! By Sarah from Chattanooga, TN

You can use old fashioned Fels-Naptha laundry soap for many uses. It can be used as a stain remover, to wash off poison ivy residue. It can also be used as a general cleaner for floors, bathrooms and showers. It can also be dissolved in water and sprayed as an insecticide in the garden. Rate It: Buying Scrapbooking Supplies on Ebay Ebay is also an inexpensive way to stock up on paper and supplies for scrapbooking. I bought several packs of paper with 200 sheets for under $10.00, with shipping it was still cheaper than the Dollar Store or Dollar Tree. Just don't get carried away and think you have to have that item. Often you will see it up for sale again as soon as the auction is over. I also buy embellishments from ebay for cheaper than in the stores, including shipping. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf13708317.tip.html

Rate It: Address Labels Can Get Stuck In Shredder Beware of shredding those free address labels you get in the mail. I had a shredder that previously handled (quite nicely) the address labels - and then it didn't. I'll have to replace the unit. I spent an hour pulling out bits of labels with needle nose pliers and asked DH to check it out, too, after a long day at work. Expensive lesson. Rate It: Use Tires for Protecting Plants Old car tyres placed over new trees or shrubs will deter rabbits and possums until plant is mature. The tyres also hold rain-water in the rim which creates a humidified environment for the plant. When watering, also fill the rim. I have used this for some time and found that the plants with tyres flourished more quickly than ones without. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf65186852.tip.html

Rate It: Go With The Flow At The Dollar Store Go with the flow of goods. There seems to be an ebb and flow in items at the 99 Cent store. They will have a delivery of, say, lingerie, and there will be lots until it is sold out. Now the deliveries are split among all the stores so it pays to go to another store to check out what ended up there. I got underwear at one store and then went to another and found, aha!, a whole rack of Hanes bras in my size and just the kind I like, so I snapped up a 1/2 dozen. That will keep me for a while. (and I got $30 worth of bras for $6, it would cost me that for just ONE at the department store.) Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf42023403.tip.html

The problem is, there's not a single rug in the entire house! We have hardwood floors. How do I get rid of the fleas? Yes, we have a cat. I've tried flea collars, flea spray, flea shampoo, you name it, but we can't get rid of them. I vacuum several times a day (emptying the bag every time) and mop daily as well. Please help! I refuse to use bombs or sprays. I prefer to use Borax or something like that. Any suggestions? Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf61875081.tip.html

Rate It: Pruning a Root Stock Branch on a Weeping Cherry We have a weeping cherry tree with a huge root stock branch shooting straight up, starting from below the canopy. We did not realize that it should be cut off and now it's draining the life out of the weeping branches, which barely have any leaves. The tall root stock branch has tons of leaves and even bloomed this year. Can we cut this branch off now or must we wait until fall to prevent "bleed out"? We want to save this tree. Please advise asap. Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf57634154.tip.html

Rate It: Family Reunion Camping Locations I am in charge of a family reunion summer of 2008. We have people who will not camp, people who do not have money, others who love to camp. Every time we have a reunion we usually find a camping place to please those who don't have money. The people who don't camp end up just coming for the day and then leave. Is there somewhere that is inexpensive and will accommodate both campers and those who do not like to camp. Preferably in the Northwest Wyoming, Utah or Idaho. Any ideas would be greally appreciated! Rate It: We have a year old British Short Haired names Lola. She is beautiful and very well behaved, always toilets in her tray or outside. She had kittens last week and we left her for only 1 night to sort our caravan out. She had pooed in 3 places over our new bed, ruined the bedding and mattress. Would this be the separation anxiety I've read about as she normally sleep with us or is it because i put her litter tray near her food so she didn't have to leave the kittens, or maybe a combination of the 2? I won't be leaving her again overnight, bless her. I'm mad because of the mess it made but she's obviously telling me something. Any advice welcomed.
