Tater Tots and Hamburger Casserole


  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 can golden mushroom soup
  • 12 slices Velveeta cheese
  • 1 small can French-fried onions



Brown hamburger and drain. Put in bottom of 9x9 inch pan. Spread mushroom soup over hamburger layer with cheese, cover with the dried onions. Layer tater tots over entire casserole. Bake at 350 degrees F until tater tots are golden brown and cheese is melted, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

My Grandma used to make this for dinner! It has been a favorite of mine for years. I have changed it up a bit for my family recently. It takes a little more time, but my husband LOVES when instead of crumbling the ground beef I make it meatloaf style and then after it is almost cooked through I top it with the cream of mushroom and tator tots.. then last top it with cheese. Thanks for sharing this great classic!
