Preserving Permanent Marker on Silicone

I have a silicone cell phone skin that was signed by Patty Smyth of Scandal, with a permanent marker. I'd love to keep this on the skin permanently, but it's rubbing off already. Does anyone know how to preserve it permanently (if it's not silicone, it's rubber)?

I remember using hair spray as a fixative, though that was for chalk on paper. Ask an archivist, they would certainly know.

You could give a crap store or Sherwin Williams a try. Nobody knows more about preserving things than craft and paint stores.

Get a new cell phone and retire the signed one to a safe dry, dark storage place or take a picture of it now for memory sake before the signature is completely rubbed off. That's about all you can do.
