Out of Work, Looking for Clothing and Other Items

I have been out of work for a long time and I am in need of blankets, sheets, towels, clothes size 3 to 5 womens, shoes size 7 1/2, cleaning supplies, nic naks and many other things. Any advice on how to get these things inexpensively or free would be appreciated.

Do you qualify for any assistance such as food stamps? If so, ask the people in that office where you can get clothing and household goods. You may qualify for assistance with that as well.

Thrift stores are a good idea. Their are also ministries dedicated to helping those in need. I run a clothing ministry in Bloomburg, Tx. Check your area and see if their is a ministry like this one.

I recommnend the www.freecycle.org site as well. I have both given and gotten some great stuff!

as far as sheets, towels, clothing, etc, try all of your local thrift stores (salvation army, goodwill). Some even have days where certain items are $1.00, or you can fill a bag for $5.00, etc. Yard sales are also great for these items, plus the nik naks for around your home. For cleaning products, your local dollar store is a great resource. They also have paper goods at a reasonable price. And last, but not least, food. Check for local food banks, call the United Way or Salvation Army for food sources, or even some churches have food and clothing "closets". Hope these ideas help!

Try signing up at http://www.freecycle.org. This site, which you will set to your area, is a place where people post a request for specific articles needed or list articles they have to give away. The site is to give away or receive FREE items with others in your area. Everything must be FREE...that is the rule of the site. Good luck.
