Medicine Chest Essentials

Be prepared for minor injuries and illnesses by updating your medicine chest and keeping it stocked with children's acetaminophen and ibuprofen, antibiotic ointment, bandages, antihistamine, and a thermometer. Being prepared can save a midnight trip to the all night pharmacy.

I would add hydrocortisone cream to the list--bug bites and poison ivy can get quite itchy.
