I like to use my phone when I am at thrift stores or yard sales. I sometimes find products that sound like a great bargain, but having my smartphone allows me to look up the actual price of the item as well as reviews. Sometimes the price is almost as much as if I'd buy the product new, so I know not to buy it. Other times, I've found that the reviews are not so great. Of course, sometimes it's definitely worth it based on the reviews and retail price. This has helped me not to buy things blindly and wait for a better deal some other time.
I must add, I have a great prepaid plan that allows me a certain amount of data usage. I don't pay any extra fees to access the web on my phone. This is something that mut be taken into consideration based on your own cell phone plan.
