When going on a trip without your children, purchase gifts at home where you're familiar with the stores before you go so you can "bring" back "souvenirs" you know they'll enjoy. We have found that not only is it less expensive, but it is also frees you up from spending vacation time trying to find somewhere to find something the children will enjoy.

The best souvenir I've ever found to bring home from a vacation anywhere is "SAND". Just plain old sand. Take
pictures of the places you get the sand, or buy post cards
to go with it.

Even when our children went with us anywhere, we'd collect
sand samples, take pictures and buy post cards. All our friends are asked to bring us sand and a picture...and
you won't believe how much the children look forward to adding that bit of sand to their scrapbooks. The Geography they learn is wonderful too. Julia
