Preventing Dirt Under Your Finger Nails

Before gardening, scrape your nails over a bar of soap. This makes it really easy to clean dirt from your nails after gardening. This also works when wearing gloves

Great idea! I also use latex gloves under my gardening gloves and sometimes that helps.

Tip: Preventing Dirt Under Your Finger Nails

Here's an old trick for people who don't like to use gloves when they garden. Rub your finger nails over a bar of soap. Your nails will fill up with the soap and prevent dirt from building up. When you clean up, scrub your nails with a nail brush to easily remove the soap.

That's a great idea. I always have discolored nails after a day of gardening...Thanks! (03/09/2007)

RE: Preventing Dirt Under Your Finger Nails

Hi, I have been doing this for years. I am an avid gardener and also have acrylic nails on. The soap method is great! (03/09/2007)
