Cascade with Dawn Dishwasher Tablets Alternative |
|
|
I've been using Cascade with Dawn dishwasher tablets. They work great but are just too expensive. I have tried several liquids and powders but they don't get my dishes clean. Any recommendations? I use plain white vinegar in the rinse-aid receptacle.

If the Cascade are tablets like Electrosol, you can break them in half. I put half in each dispenser so I use half the amount of detergent for each load. I find this works well even with frying pans or broiler pans in the dishwasher.
Good luck

I make my own. I use 1 1/2 cups dry WalMart dishwasher detergent, 1 1/2 cups of 20 Mule Team Borax and 1 1/2 cups Arm and Hammer Washing Soda. Mix well and use about 2 - 4 tablespoons in the holder. I put vinegar in the Jet Dry dispenser. Dishes are very clean and no spots.
