My daughter is 2 and has down syndrome. We are planning a party for the 15th of June. I am planning a care bears party. I have invited quite a few older children as we don't know too many 2 year olds. As a matter of fact, none. Therefore, my daughter will be the youngest. The party is in our backyard where there is a swingset. Any tips for the party? We are on a tight budget of $150.00 total party favors, gifts, etc. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks,

Tracy

you could decorate with rainbow colored balloons and streamers, clouds, stars, hearts, and moons made out of tag board, and print-outs of care bears. you could play pass the care bear like hot potatoe. print off care bear color sheets for the kids. favors could be candy...all colors of the rainbow...put red candy in a red bucket, blue suckers in a blue bucket(or box) and let the kids find each color(hide them around your yard)...give the kids little bags for their candy or if you have the care bear goody bags that would be great. or i have seen little plastic care bears at family dollar for $1..they have a few other care bear items too. stickers are a good idea*and they're cheap! you can buy a pack of two sheets and cut them in fours or whatever...we had fish stickers and cut each sheet in half....(the kids didnt notcie.)another idea is small cans of play-doh(8 for $1 at the dollar store) or little bottles of bubbles....you can make your own labels on the computer with a pic of your beautiful daughter and a pic of a care bear and type Thanks for comming to _________'s birthday or ___________'s 2nd birthday party and the date and tape them over the bubble label. do you know anyone who has a bubble machine? we got one at wal-mart for $15(but ive seen them at target for $10) we had one for my 2 year olds nemo theme party and the kids loved it. even the older kids played in the bubbles. it kept them busy for quite awhile! well.....hope this helps! hope you and your daughter have a great time!
p.s....the bubble machine doubles as a gift!

Back in the 80"s my daughter was into the Care Bears...so for her birthday I enlarged the shape of the bears and cut out the different belly designs and they played pin the design on the bear...like "Pin the tail on the donkey"...the guest to get it closest to the belly won the game..

How about a Care Bear coloring contest? You could probably find some Care Bear color sheets on line, print them out, and have a coloring contest. Also, borrow a Care Bear movie from the library, have the kids watch a sketch from it, then each kid picks which Care Bear they want to be and act out the movie. I've seen Care Bear stickers at Dollar Tree store. Other inexpensive favors are Care Bear pencils, pens, color books, tattoos maybe. All should be found at dollar stores or Ocean State Job Lot, etc. Good Luck!
